ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR/DIRECTOR, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Position Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
 |
Proactively seek out
and independently propose new business development opportunities
by contacting pharmaceutical and drug delivery companies
about in-licensing, monitor the trade, network with
other licensing executives, and attending partnering
meetings, medical conventions and investor conferences.

Manage the internal
review of confidential dossiers and, identify and interact
with inside and outside experts and fully understand
the P&Ls and executive financial models. |

Arrange meetings with
potential partners and deliver detailed presentation
of Ranbaxy’s capabilities. |

Provide recommendations
on whether or not to in-license a product being offered
by potential partner, based on a complete and well documented
understanding of the product and the projected financial
return. |

Develop deal structure
in collaboration with the corporate finance and supply
chain groups. Draft term sheets and coordinate P&Ls
to ensure that the commercial terms produce the expected
return on investment. Participate in the negotiation
of all necessary agreements for a license or acquisition.

Manage existing partnerships
and projects and ensure that executed collaborations
move forward as expected and within proposed timelines
and costs. |
Qualifications:
(Include special educational requirements and/or work experience,
skills and physical requirements).
Requirements
 |
A well-developed understanding
of the generic pharmaceutical marketplace, acquired
through a minimum of 3-5 years of industry experience
in at least one of the following areas: business development,
licensing, product/project management, market research,
and sales;

Strong understanding
of ROI criteria, generic market dynamics, e.g. Waxman-Hatch
regulations.

5-10 years total business
experience |
 |
A thorough understanding
of the drug development and regulatory process is necessary.
|
 |
BS/BA degree in business
or science at a minimum. MBA with an undergraduate degree
in life sciences ideal. |
