RANBAXY HONORED WITH NJBIA
AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN NEW JERSEY BUSINESS EXPANSION
Princeton, NJ – October 11, 2011 -- Ranbaxy
Inc., a research-based pharmaceutical company that manufactures
generic product formulations, O-T-C and branded drug
products, has been honored with the New Jersey Business
Industry Association’s (NJBIA) Award for
Excellence in Business Expansion and Economic Contribution
to the State.
The NJBIA award acknowledges Ranbaxy’s
commitment and contribution to the State, providing
jobs for more than 700 New Jerseyans and with recent
investments in its state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities
in New Brunswick. NJBIA President Philip Kirschner
will recognize Ranbaxy and other recipients at an awards
dinner on October 18, 2011 in Edison, NJ.
Ranbaxy entered the U.S. market in 1994 with a sales
office in Raleigh, North Carolina. It acquired Ohm Laboratories
of North Brunswick, NJ, its first U.S. manufacturing
facility in 1995 and subsequently relocated its North
American headquarters to Princeton, NJ. Ohm Laboratories
produces quality and affordable generic prescription
product formulations, as well as O-T-C medications.
Acknowledging the honor, Venkat Krishnan, Senior Vice
President and Regional Director, Americas, said, “In
the past 24 months alone, Ranbaxy has invested more
than $54.2 million in expanding its U.S. manufacturing
and distribution capabilities. Currently, we have more
than 700 employees, which is an increase of 36 percent
from 2005. We are very proud of this recognition by
the NJBIA, and we look forward to continuing
growth as an active corporate citizen of the State of
New Jersey.”
